We will screen a mini-documentary about the film, followed by a conversation with practitioners and researchers who have been working on dykeland futures in the region. Unknown Passage: The Dead Moon Story — 6pm
This newly restored and remixed documentary follows Oregon punk/garage rock/folk band Dead Moon on the road and chronicles the evolution of a group whose members have been part of the underground music scene for four decades. Live performances, archival footage, interviews and home movies flesh out this profile of a truly unique band. Members include singer-songwriter Fred Cole on guitar, his wife Toody Cole on bass and Andrew Loomis on drums.
Presented with support by Old Town Records, this will be a landmark event for music fans across the province.
Doors open at 6pm for a record (Old Town Records) + zine (Conundrum Press) + skate fair (iGotSkate) in Jack's Gallery lobby, followed by a live music set by Civilians in tribute to Dead Moon, on stage at 7:30pm. The presentation of this newly restored version of the film (that not many eyes have yet seen) will begin at 8pm, followed by a live Q&A over video with co-director Jason Summers.
For the first 30 orders online there will be a giveaway of merch and goodies, with the RATS booklets and various Dead Moon related stickers provided by Szim. Subject to availability, can be picked up only at the event.

From Food Scarcity to Seeds of Solidarity is a student-created documentary, developed as part of an honours thesis, that explores community-based food initiatives in Wolfville and their role in addressing food insecurity while fostering care, connection, and resilience. Through intimate storytelling and lived experiences, the film highlights what is made possible through collective care—and what is lost in its absence.
This film will be followed by a short Q&A, and then an hour-long live panel discussion with community members featured in the film and within the broader community.
