The scholarship provided by the Al Whittle Theatre is made possible by the generous bequest that Al left to the Acadia Cinema Cooperative upon his death in 2021.

This annual scholarship is designed to honour Al’s love of cinema, and will help to nurture and develop the next generation of Nova Scotia film makers.
