Job Description / Duties
We are looking for Concessions Workers (2) to join our small team at Al Whittle Theatre. As Concessions Worker, you will play a vital role in the guest experience and ensure exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate should have a community focused, customer-centric mindset and ideally is passionate about film, live music, local theatre, dance, and/or lifelong learning events.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Follow concessions opening and closing procedures – this includes some light lifting (up to 20lbs) and moving furniture/displays
Ensure a welcoming and organized concessions experience for guests
Collaborate effectively with other staff members and volunteers, as well as co-located organization staff and volunteers (Jack’s Gallery and Just Us Cafe), as needed
Follow health and safety standards and guidelines
Knowledge of point-of-sale systems and comfortable working with technology, as well as handling cash and following related security procedures
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Comfortable working independently or within a small team environment
ServeRight certification, FOODSAFE Level 1 certification, or willingness to become certified, will be seen as an asset, but is not a requirement

Al Whittle Theatre is a 160 soft-seat venue, owned and operated by the volunteer-run Acadia Cinema Cooperative, as a performing arts theatre and independent cinema. Serving the Annapolis Valley and beyond, this unique community-based non-profit co-operative provides an innovative, sought-after cultural complex to facilitate and stimulate cultural activity year-round in Wolfville, encouraging and attracting a broad range of artistic presenters and presentations.
