About Chef Steph Levac
Originally from Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Steph is an Indigenous chef with roots in M'Chigeeng First Nation. His passion for food is deeply connected to his heritage, embracing the traditions of using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and honouring the stories behind every dish. Since making the Maritimes his home, he has built a reputation for crafting bold, flavourful creations that celebrate both his roots and his love for innovative cooking.
Currently, Chef Steph is the Executive Chef at Maritime Express Cider Co., where he brings his signature creativity and passion to every plate. Whether he’s curating a gourmet menu, hosting an event, or dreaming up his next big culinary adventure, his dedication to quality and flavor shines through. More than just a chef, he’s a storyteller and a community builder who believes that food has the power to connect people.
Beyond the kitchen, Steph is a proud dad to his son, Christopher, and shares a love for adventure and creativity with his wife, Meg.

Dr. Nicholas Kraus
Nick Kraus is currently the Mellon Foundation Postdoctoral Researcher at the British Museum, where he is working on a project that investigates the materiality of cuneiform tablets and their production. Dr. Kraus holds degrees in Classics and Near Eastern Archaeology from the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto, and received his PhD in Assyriology from Yale University. In addition to studying cuneiform, his research includes nearly a decade of archaeological fieldwork at sites in the Middle East, as well as scientific and digital methods of investigation like Reflectance Transformation Imaging, X-Ray Fluorescence, 3-D Imaging, and Social Networking Analysis. Prior to joining the British Museum, Nick was a research fellow at the Free University Berlin where he won two grants to conduct his own research projects. He then went on to hold a research position at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences in Munich. Most recently, he took up his current position as a Project Curator with the British Museum.
