It's 1922 and the women of Prince Edward Island have recently won the right to vote. When the women of Putney arrange for a female foreign missionary to come speak at their church, they are shocked when the elders of the church decree that a woman has no place in the pulpit. Hilarity ensues as the women of Putney Church show just how far they're willing to go to assert their rights as women and members of Putney Church.
