After becoming engaged, straight-laced couple Brad Majors and Janet Weiss set out to visit their old friend and former professor. En route, a heavy storm leads them to the doors of the secluded and mysterious castle of eccentric scientist Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter, where they meet his servants and bear witness to his latest experiment. What ensues is a night of pleasure, horror and discovery that will force Brad and Janet to question everything they know.
“Audiences are going to fall in love with the chaos, the camp, the music—and hopefully themselves a little, too,” says Linda Levy Fisk, Co-Director.
Premiering exactly 50 years after the 1975 film, this live-stage rock-musical production honours the original’s defiant spirit. Rocky Horror broke taboos around gender, sexuality, and performance—becoming a cult refuge for outsiders and queer communities for generations. Now, in rural Nova Scotia, queer culture continues to evolve and invite everyone to participate, in direct opposition to growing global tensions, making this production more vital than ever.
“This was the show that made me feel seen as a teenager,” says performer Adrien Lewis, “To be in this show—here in Wolfville—is a full-circle moment.”
After producing LOVE LETTERS in fall 2024 and KRAPP’S LAST TAPE in Spring 2025, this rendition of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW marks the largest live production of the show in the Annapolis Valley's history - and the first musical produced by Jeremy Banks. It could not have even been considered without the incredible support of audiences, backstage team, and the donated time of incredible theatre talent on stage.
“This isn’t just a musical,” says producer Jeremy Banks. “It’s a celebration of difference and a challenge to the norm. In our version, we’re breaking audience expectations even more than the original—featuring a trans performer in a lead role, gender-bending casting, and a renewed focus on joy, risk, and transformation. It’s everything Rocky Horror should be— absolutely unforgettable.”
