Singers and guitarists Don Ross (Canada) and Julie Malía (Germany) join forces to present a double bill show.

Don Ross and Julie Malía—both acclaimed solo performers—have recently formed a musical partnership. While continuing their international solo careers, they have presented many shows as a double bill since fall 2023, performing more than 100 concerts across Germany, the UK, Canada, Italy, Austria, and the USA. They continue touring together on both sides of the Atlantic in 2026. They are currently working on a duo CD release, slated for release within the next year.

More about Don and Julia below.

Spring 2026 Don’s new all-vocal album, Songs That Found Me, a mix of original songs and interpretations reflecting milestones in his life was released. His 19th solo album (his 27th including collaborations) showcases not only his rich voice but also his work as a multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer. Like his 2023 release Water, it is being launched independently through crowdfunding, allowing collaborations (on Water) with artists such as Bruce Cockburn and The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in Montreal to a Mi’kmaw Indigenous mother and Scottish father, Don earned a BFA in Music from York University and became a full-time musician in 1988, the year he first won the U.S. National Fingerpick Guitar Championship (he won again in 1996). A prolific recording artist and global touring musician, he now lives in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada.

German guitarist, singer, and songwriter Julie Malía—also a lecturer at Dresden’s Carl Maria von Weber Music University—is a leading figure on Europe’s acoustic scene. Known for her virtuosic guitar work, expressive voice, and engaging stage presence, she performs widely across Europe and North America. Her recent album Seagull was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Prize in 2024. She performs regularly in her native Germany and throughout Europe, and has now expanded her touring base to include North America. Julie lives in Dresden, Germany.
